Hello! My name is Matthew Revilla, and I am an undergraduate student studying Medical Sciences. I love to engage in creative pursuits and I see science as the biggest one of all! I am excited to see how my endeavors unfurl throughout my college experience. Aside from medicine, I love hiking, music, and reading (if you are curious, check my interests tab). It is important to me to lead my life with compassion. I feel best when I am not so caught up thinking about myself, but rather truly understanding and loving the people that surround me. I used to play the clarinet as a part of a few chamber ensembles in high school; I was given the opportunity to play a solo movement within a three movement piece. I was extremely nervous the night of the performance, especially because my music theory teacher had composed the piece that contained my solo. Standing around all night waiting to go on stage I wanted nothing more than to just give up and go home. Instead, I successfully played through the three movement trio piece (second movement was the solo movement). Despite having played multiple concerts previously, this had been the first one where I had gained the confidence and trust in myself that comes from a lot of effort and time spent going over passages.
